Linda Skoglund Art by Linda Skoglund
Herne Hill maker
Linda Skoglund is an artist and workshop facilitator with a love for colour, the creative process and tapping into the unconscious. The vibrant works are built up using a technique of carefully layered paint to create a tonal depth whilst alternating between the darkest shadows and the light combining animal studies or portraiture with elements of the surreal. An important part of the process is finding the essence of the subject where the work is often simplified in the drawing stages by taking away unnecessary information. With a nod to her Scandinavian roots and the surrealists, the works are inspired by the relationship of dreams, imagination, colours and adventurous experiences. Seeing art as an obvious part of life as creating is being innovative she teaches creative experimentation sharing tips and using inspirational resources and quality art materials. Art offers the opportunity to connect with self and others both as a viewer and as a participant.
She currently runs weekly Surrealist Art workshops near Brixton, alongside undertaking commissions and showing work at art fairs and exhibitions.
